Permanent Exhibition "A Walk along Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street"

Unique historical territory should have such places where a city dweller or a tourist could feel and keenly appreciate the spirit of history in very special circumstances. In this context the permanent exhibition "A Walk along Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street" has been set up quite in time. It was opened in May 1998 in Peter the Great's house, an architectural monument of the 17th century. The exhibition was created on the basis of a valuable and significant museum article of 1910 — "The Guidebook on Polotsk" that was published in Polotsk on the occasion of transferring St. Euphrosyne's relics from Kiev. It tells about the history of Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street, about the people who lived in that street and about buildings and establishments that stood there in 1910.
