Archine is a device for measuring length. It is based on an old Russian measure of length archine, which was introduced into circulation in the 16th century and institutionalized in 1899. One archine amounted to 711,19 mm, or 28 inches. Archine was a necessary tool in a haberdashery shop. In 1910 an archine of a simple linen cloth cost 17 kopecks, twined linen cost 55 kopecks. Silk cloth was the most expensive and cost 1 ruble per archine.

The wooden archine from the exposition was made in England in the early 20th century. It consists of four wooden slats connected to each other. One side has a vershok (44.449 mm) division, the other has an inch division.
