First buffets appeared in Europe in the 16th century. Initially, they were set in public places. Over time, this piece of furniture has become decorate home interiors.

The two-tier wooden buffet, presented at the exhibition, was produced in Germany in the late 19th - early 20th centuries. Its front is decorated with floral ornament and bronze details. The upper part of the buffet has doors and open shelves, where glass and porcelain dishes were usually placed. There are closed shelves at the bottom of the buffet, where table linens were usually folded.
